Catching up: April 2011.

Darlings!  Hello.  I have been gone a long time.  Since we're old friends, let's just carry on as though we haven't spent any time apart.  Let's also pretend that the post representing my blog for more than a year wasn't about a comic that someone else wrote about ginger ale.

I'm currently in Ecuador on my first ever South American adventure!  I'm planning on trying to catch you up on the last more-than-a-year or so while also posting about current exciting happenings.  I hope you don't get motion sick from the back-and-forth.  The catch-up posts will mostly feature pictures, because things happened a long time ago and I don't remember enough to really write about them and it's a lot to get through and no one really reads words anymore, anyway, right?

With that settled...April 2011!

A nautical museum near Aveiro let me pretend I was a pirate...or just let me come on to a steering wheel?

Day trip to Coimbra, home to a university that is the oldest in Portugal and one of the oldest in the world.

But much more importantly, home to Portugal dos Pequenitos (Portugal of the Little Ones), which started out with this area consisting of miniature versions of Portuguese buildings and now also has pavilions focusing on the various former colonies.

Portugal of the Little Doorways.
