Cambodia: wildlife.

We went to a floating village on the Tonle Sap, and when we stopped at the restaurant / gift shop, this boat came up to us, begging. A couple of other kids also were milling around in the water in tubs with snakes in them. Strange way to ask for money, but it worked - I gave them a dollar so they'd leave and Tara would stop freaking out. [More on poverty in Cambodia later - get excited!]

Outside our hotel in Kratie. Not sure of the significance.

We went to Kratie to see the Irrawaddy freshwater dolphins in the Mekong. I decided to not even bother trying to take pictures and just sit back and watch while everyone else got frustrated about missing shots of the dolphins. Apparently they used to drive fish into fishers' nets because they knew that the fishers would throw any fish they didn't want back into the water, easy pickins for the dolphins. However, they are now endangered, in part because of getting caught in nets.

The Kats and I explored behind a waterfall and found this little guy. When we showed the picture to Mom later, she said, "Yup, poisonous." Nice.

But of all the terrifying beasts we encountered, this was the most terrifying of all...
