Cairo: street festival.

Annual street festival in Heliopolis. Further proof that I love street festivals everywhere. There was a lot going on - kids' activities, food, music, etc. The street got really crowded - seemed as though all of Cairo was there. We even saw a player from Zamalek, one of the bigger soccer teams in Egypt [but I don't care, I'm for Al Ahly!].

If you look in the middle, you can see that they had giant cigarettes hanging from the pole. Not sure why - I couldn't see any form of advertisement around it. Maybe another kids' activity? A lot of people were taking their pictures with them, pretending to light their own [regular-sized] cigarettes from them.

Chalk was being handed out, and Egyptians and foreigners alike were making their mark.

They had a screen up so people could catch the Portugal World Cup game.

Saw a familiar face.
